Motivation quote for VLM

“Stay calm and divide the race into thirds. Run the first part with your head,
the middle part with your personality
…and the last part with your heart”

I'm Coming Home

I just love this song to me it is a great running song- why?

I am coming is a great mantra for miles 18+
Tell the world I am coming - is how I will feel at mile 25
My kingdom awaits - is home
I have never felt so strong- is how I feel
Ain't no stopping us now- is great mantra for 18+
Lots of fights lots of scars-The training
Lots of up and lots of downs-The training
All make you a better man- The Running makes you a better man
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday- is the training
Cruising through Harlem - was running New York Marathon

The song also have a fantastic beat for running

Quote by Dan Millman which I Like

We can find guidance from many sources — by observing the natural world, people around us, from human mentors, from friends and strangers — but of course we always want to check out what we learn against that whispered wisdom of our heart — because there is no best path, book, teacher, or choice — only the best for each of us at a given time of our life.

Motivation in winter

One of the basis of Tai Chi is living in harmony with nature and natures energy. In the current  current dark snowy conditions I have mentioned that  my motivation to go for a ran has reduced. Last night I went for a walk in the snow, it was very quiet. There was no wildlife to be seen. I suddenly realised that I am not suffering from lack of motivation but rather my body is tuning into natures cycles and is keeping itself warm and preserving energy and this is reflected in reduced motivation.

Fantastic quote by Joe Simpson

Nobody grows old living a number of years,
people grow old by only deserting their ideals,
years wrinkle the skin but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul,
worry, doubt, distrust, fear and despair.........
these are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust.

It is snowy

Unfortunately due to heavy snow I have not been able to go for a run for a few days and I am starting to get very restless. Decided to go for a long walk. It is amazing how quiet and still everything was. I am going to hold the memory in my mind ready for when I am next running in the sun.
