Camelbak tip
I find my camelbak very easy to use but the sloshing sound really annoys me. Dave gave me a great tip, before you run hold the Camelbak upside down and then suck the remaining air out. This stopped all the sloshing around. Excellent tip.
Good tip Clive, I hadn't thought about sucking the air out. I used to squeeze it out by hanging it off the edge of the kitchen counter but was really fiddly. My top tip is to add 500 mls of fluid to the bladder, mark the level with a biro, then add another 500 mls, mark it with a biro and so on until the top. This was you can add only the water you need to the bladder and also gauge how much you have drunk during a run. Also you can add the right dosage of electrolyte on the fly
Thanks for you tip I am going to use my camelbak on Saturday, usually I just fill it with weak orange squash but will also add some electrolyte. What do you use as electrolyte?
I am a qualified Tai Chi Teacher and with fellow Teacher Chris Mowen run Freeflow Body Solutions Tai Chi. I started running a few years ago and I have run four marathons: Beachy Head, New York, London and Marafun.I am working on improving my running by incorporating Tai Chi. I also study Karate.
